Last night, Wednesday, July 10, nearly the entire 36 member
team was fully present for the very first time.
Aaron and Weston Welch, and Kirstin and Kate VanderMolen, were able to
join us having come all the way from Michigan.
We rehearsed large group choir songs, drama sketches, small music
ensembles, and testimonies. God has
brought together a diverse and very talented group of people!
Last night I was struck by two things in particular. First, how wonderful it is to see so many
students involved and using what God has gifted them with to serve others. 13 members of the team are under the age of
eighteen. Second, what a unique
opportunity this is for families to minister together. All of those students have at least one
parent traveling with them. Two entire
families are going together (Pho, Clingenpeel) and one family even has grandparents,
parents, and grandchildren serving together (Welch, Welch, VanderMolen)!
I would ask for you to pray the same prayer the Apostle Paul
asked the church in Ephesus to pray, “That we would proclaim it (the gospel)
fearlessly, as we should.” (Eph. 6:20 NIV)
